Make a Craftsman Style Blanket Chest with Bob Van Dyke

This advanced workshop features a handsome frame and panel blanket chest, which is based on a design by John McAlevey, a well-known custom furniture maker and author living in Maine. The chest was featured on the cover of Fine Woodworking Magazine a number of years ago. The project entails extensive through mortise and tenons, raised panels, chamfered legs, a number of curved parts and frame and panel construction. The techniques used in its construction are basic to many larger furniture pieces. The format of this class is unique. We will meet one weekend a month for three months, which provides six full days of class time. Work at home between sessions will be required in order to keep the project on track. Participants need to have taken at least the Woodworking I and II classes. Tuition: $475.00 (plus materials).
