Turning & Carving -Exploring The Barley Twist with Beth Ireland

The Barley twist is a sculptural form that has been used in architecture, furniture and sculpture from the beginning of recorded history. In this unique new class participants will learn the fundamentals of Architectural wood-turning as a base to layout and hand carve a traditional barley twist. Students will be free to take this project in their own personal direction. Furniture maker or artist, the Barley twist will be an unendingly fun puzzle for you to unravel. Students do not need any prior experience.

Tuition: $195.00 plus materials.
