Learn Dovetails and Drawers with Steve Kain
Dovetail joints are considered the hallmark of fine craftsmanship and with a little practice and confidence they are not that hard to make. Drawers are the logical place where most dovetails are used but they need to be designed properly in order for the dovetail to work in conjunction with the drawer bottom and back. Students will each make a sample drawer using the skills learned in the class. Steve will demonstrate layout and cutting the joint using a combination of machines and hand-tools. A number of variations on attaching the drawer bottom will also be explored. Through dovetails and half-blind dovetails will be utilized. Tuition: $225.00 (plus materials)
Section 101508A: Wednesday evenings, October 15—November 5, 6:00pm - 9:30pm
