Dyeing and Staining Techniques with Peter Gedrys

Have you ever looked at an antique and admired the rich glow and depth of color in the wood? Quite often the coloring process seems to be a mystery and your results lack the desired depth.

This weekend class is designed to take the guess work out of your next project. Students will begin with basic color theory followed by color mixing. You will then progress through the variety of colorants including dyes, pigment stains and glazes and tinting mediums. Through demonstration and hands on students will create samples of color layering. To further take the guess work out of coloring students will have the unique opportunity to create their own color samples using the variety of products available at the school. Students are encouraged to bring in photos of furniture they would like to match. Tuition: $195.00 plus materials
