Photographing Your Work with Richard Bergen

This course is designed for the woodworker who needs to make quality photographs of his or her work. The first part of the course will be a basic introduction to photography and will revolve around the mechanics of the camera. Additional topics will be covered which will help you to decide the right lens to use, how to pick the right type of film, when to use filters, and the best format (or size) of the camera you should use. Richard will also explore digital photography. The second half will be spent on lighting techniques. Simple one and two light set-ups will be demonstrated, and will be followed by more advanced topics of multiple light set-ups, determining color balance, and using shadows to enhance the photographs.

Richard Bergen is a professional photographer who works out of his Hartford studio and is also a woodworker who understands the photographic needs of other woodworkers. Tuition: $95.00 (includes materials)
